HISTORY
Said Samán Farah was born in Homs, Syria in 1919 and at the age of 18 he changed his residence to the City of Zacatecas in 1937, where he arrived in search of his sister, and 6 years later in June 1943 he founded in the city of Zacatecas the first cafe as a public space; Acropolis. It was then that Said acquired the small business where ice cream was sold, transforming it into a restaurant, Café and Nevería, making it an emblem of Zacatecas and the first Zacatecan café. The Acropolis of Mexico has always been in Zacatecas and has been located in three different places but always on Av. Hidalgo, the main avenue in the center of Zacatecas. The first place where it was located was in the place where it is now the Paquín, eleven years later it was changed to what is now the Zapatería 3 Hermanos and finally in 1983 it was changed to the Gonzales Ortega Market where it was located. It is currently located. It has not always been The Acropolis as we know it now, for this several years of family effort passed. In the warm atmosphere of this place, a large part of the small history of our ancient city of Zacatecas and of the country itself takes place, because here pilgrims of the highest political category, artists, writers, intellectuals and personalities stopped their steps. Of course, every visitor to Zacatecas goes to this cafe located next to the Cathedral.
